Meet Maria of First Impressions!

Hello, dear readers of Hello Shmello!
I'm Maria Elyse from First Impressions, and I adore Emily's blog. Her fantastic, personable writing and lovely outfits are lovely.

I live in the Northern US, where the weather right now is a bit unusual. Typically in mid-January the ground is covered in many quilts of white snow, the wind is fiercely upset, and the temperature drops to below zero. Instead I walk outside to temperatures in the thirties, which is quite warm for winter weather here, and there's just a thin sheet of snow below my feet. It's pleasantly mild.
I hope that winter, weather mild or harsh, is pleasant for each of you. Thanks for having me guest post, Emily!

*Bonus silly questions*
What is the last book you read?
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It was amazing; I loved it. I can't wait to read the second one!

If you were a tree (or animal) what kind of tree (animal) would you be?
While I think it would be lovely to be a tree, I'd rather be an animal. Swans are one of my favorite animals, and I'd love to be one. They're so beautiful, graceful, and can fly- one of my dreams.

If you could be any character in fiction, whom would you be?
Wendy Darling, from Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, without a doubt.

If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I would use it to start college funds for my sisters and I, buy my parents their dream house, buy some clothes I've been lusting after, go on my dream vacation to London and Paris, and start an orphanage for disabled children in a foreign country. My youngest sister is disabled, and in some foreign countries, disabled orphans who are not adopted by a certain age are sent to horrible institutions where they are poorly looked after, and where most die within a year. When I learned about it I kept thinking, What if one of those sweet kids was my little sister? I would do anything to change that and give them a better life.
